A Wentzville man, 69, was killed in a three-vehicle accident in Warren County on the afternoon of May 24, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The accident occured on Highway 47 south of Boone Monument Road, where the road was obscured by heavy smoke, according to the patrol. A Washington man, 64, and the Wentzville man traveling behind him on a Harley Davidson, began to slow to a stop.
A 25-year-old St. Clair man was traveling behind them and hit his brakes causing his vehicle to skid, according to the patrol. He struck the rear of the Wentzville man’s motorcycle, which then was forced into the Washington man’s vehicle in front of him.
The Washington man sustained minor injuries in the accident and both he and the Wentzville man were transported to Mercy Hospital Washington via ambulance. The Wentzville man was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the patrol.
The St. Clair man did not report any injuries.
