Marquis McDaniel, 34, of Wentzville, was charged with third-degree domestic assault, a felony, stemming from an incident that occurred in Marthasville on the afternoon of Jan. 12.
According to the probable cause statement filed by Warren County Sheriff's Deputy Chase Bascio, he responded to a call to the address in Marthasville that afternoon and he was met outside by the victim.
She said McDaniel had struck her during an argument and attempted to take her phone when she tried to call 911.
Bascio also reported McDaniel admitted to hitting the victim and he observed bruising on the victim's neck consistent with their statements.
He also noted the suspect and the victim live together and share children.
The court ordered McDaniel be held without bond.
