The winter weather outlook is slightly improved Friday morning, although a severe weather advisory remains in place from the National Weather Service.The winter weather advisory is in effect from 9 a.m. to midnight Friday, Feb. 15. Snowfall of 1-3 inches is expected throughout east-central Missouri.A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods ofaccumulating snow will primarily cause travel difficulties. Roadsmay rapidly become slippery once the snow begins, so motoristsshould plan for a slower than normal trip. Be especially alertwhen approaching bridges, overpasses, and curves.Drivers can check the conditions of state highways and interstates using the Missouri Department of Transportation's traveler information map at traveler.modot.org.Forecasting service AccuWeather has pulled back slightly on its prediction for snowfall in the Warren County area. Warrenton and Wright City are expected to get 1-3 inches, but there is about a 30 percent chance the area will receive up to 6 inches of snow. The brunt of the severe weather is expected to arrive after 3 p.m. Friday and continue overnight.Slightly heavier snow is predicted in Marthasville and Washington.A small amount of snow or ice is predicted overnight Saturday and into Sunday, according to AccuWeather.Winter Weather Advisory
