Much of central and east Missouri is under a winter storm watch for the weekend, with an average of 5-7 inches of snow predicted by the National Weather Service between Friday afternoon and Saturday.In the Warren County area, weather service Accuweather predicts a 33 percent chance of more than 10 inches of snow within the span of a day. There's about a 50 percent chance of 6-10 inches of snow.Snowfall mixed with sleet is forecasted to begin 4 p.m. Friday and continue late into Saturday night. The National Weather Service advises adjusting any travel to avoid the winter storm, and to stock emergency supplies at home in case travel becomes difficult.Schools in the Warren County and Wright City school districts are closing after noon Friday, while Washington School District canceled school entirely.Winter weather advisory
