The Warren County Emergency Management Agency will host a weather spotter class Saturday, March 17.Registration will be held from 8:30 to 9 a.m.The program will start at 9 a.m. and run to about 11:45 a.m.Anyone can attend and the class is encouraged for amateur radio operators, churches, businesses, nursing homes, care facilities, daycare facilities, factories, government agencies, schools, law enforcement, fire and EMS personnel.The training is sponsored by the National Weather Service (NWS) St. Louis and the Warren County Emergency Management Agency.This course is geared toward anyone interested in public safety during extreme weather events. It is developed by NWS meteorologists and covers the following topics: Basics of thunderstorm development, fundamentals of storm structures, fundamentals of tornado formations, how to report severe and hazardous weather to the NWS and local authorities and severe weather safety.The class is free and limited to 60 participants.
