First Friday scheduled for May 5 in Wright City has been canceled because of the weather forecast.
The announcement was made on the Wright City Downtown Revitalization Committee’s Facebook page at 12:43 p.m. May 3.
“Due to the amount of planning and logistics it takes to put on an event of this magnitude, we have to make the call this far ahead, instead of the day of!” the post reads.
There is a 91 percent chance of rain on May 5 in the area, and a 21 percent chance of thunderstorms. Four hours of rain is expected in Wright City, according to Accuweather.
“Super bummed, but looking forward to June!” Alderman Ramiz Hakim wrote on his Facebook page.
The next First Friday is scheduled for June 2 in Wright City.
