Wayne Herbert Brooks, of Camdenton, formerly of Marthasville, passed away peacefully in the care of his family at home on May 6th, 2026. He was born on September 12th, 1941 in Washington MO to Hugo and Flora Mae (nee:Hauk).

Wayne grew up on a farm outside of Treloar, Mo. He graduated from Warrenton High School then joined the Air Force where he served for 4 years before starting his career with Monsanto (later MEMC). He was married to Saundra Pritchard in Alton, Ill. on November 7, 1969. Wayne was a kind, calm, and stable person with a strong work ethic. He was very particular and always doing a project to improve his home and yard. He loved the water and
spent a lot of time visiting and ultimately moving to Florida and Lake of the Ozarks. He was fortunate to go on many trips with Saundra, with his favorites being Germany and Alaska. He was also thrilled to be chosen to go on the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. He was a member of and liked to socialize at the Elks Lodge #1559 in Washington and the Greenview Elks Lodge #2857 in Camdenton. In his later years, he could be found watching Fox News, preferably with a bowl of ice cream. He was a loving, fun and humble person that will be greatly missed.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Glenn Brooks and in laws Rufe and Ardath Pritchard. He is survived by his wife Saundra of Camdenton; daughter Rachel (Charlie) Hunt and granddaughters Brooklyn and Madelyn (Will) of Marthasville; sisters-in-law Connie Brooks of Marthasville and Brenda (Tom) Vomund of Virginia Beach, VA; brother in law Glen (Julie) Pritchard of Linn Creek; nieces and nephews Stacey(Marvin) White, Steve (Michelle) Brooks, John (Kristi) Vomund, Paula (Jeff) Bacon, Suzanne Erwin and several great nieces and nephews.

Because of Wayne’s great respect for the military and first responders, memorial donations are suggested to Missouri Patriot Paws at mopatriotpaws.org.
