The Warrenton football team fell in its last GAC North conference matchup 49-27 to Orchard Farm on Oct. 17. The win cemented the Eagles as the GAC North conference champions.
Starting the game, Orchard Farm recovered an onside kick in which Collin Sinclair capped the drive with a three-yard touchdown. Sinclair then completed a two-point conversion and the Eagles led 8-0.
Orchard Farm’s Tyson Bronson intercepted a pass in Warrenton’s first offensive drive and then scored on a 14-yard run. Sinclair completed the two-point conversion.
Warrenton’s Isias Hernandez got the Warriors rolling with a 48-yard run to put them at the one-yard line. Blondin completed the drive and scored. Jake Kinney added the extra point. The end of the first quarter was 16-7 Eagles.
In the second quarter, Sinclair scored on a two-yard rush. However, their two-point attempt was stopped.
The Eagles forced a fumble in the next play and scored again. The score was 30-7 Eagles.
Bradley Tucker responded for Warrenton and ran for 37-yards to put his team at the 28-yard line. Blondin, again, finished the drive and scored on a three-yard run. Kinney added an extra point.
Before half, Sinclair scored one more time for the Eagles on a 41-yard run. The two-point attempt was denied and the score was 36-14 Orchard Farm at halftime.
In the second half, Hernandez rushed for a seven-yard touchdown and Blondin added another touchdown on a one-yard quarterback sneak. The Eagles scored two as well from a 17-yard run and two-yard pass.
The Warriors dropped down to a 5-3 record and ended conference play with a 3-2 record. They will host Fort Zumwalt South next Friday for senior night.
