The Warrenton Warriors used strong second and third quarters to beat conference opponent Winfield Friday.
Warrenton (2-5) beat Winfield 28-7 Friday. Charlie Blondin accounted for two second quarter touchdowns to help the Warriors jump out to a 15-0 halftime lead.
Blondin rushed in Warrenton's first score from seven yards out to give Warrenton a 8-0 lead. Blondin threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Colton Brosenne with 2:34 remaining in the first half to give Warrenton a 15-0 lead.
After Winfield scored on a defensive touchdown on the opening drive of the third quarter, Warrenton responded with a touchdown drive to reclaim the two-possession lead. Running back Austin Haas scored on a 6-yard touchdown run. Later in the third quarter, Blondin hit Brosenne on a 58-yard touchdown to give Warrenton a 28-7 lead.
Warrenton is scheduled to host Orchard Farm next week.
