Daniel, Witthaus named to all-state first team

Two Warrenton softball athletes were recently named to the Class 4 softball first team. 

Junior Kiera Daniel and senior Kylie Witthaus were both named to the Class 4 first team.

Daniel, Witthaus named to all-state first team

Two Warrenton softball athletes were recently named to the Class 4 softball first team. 

Junior Kiera Daniel and senior Kylie Witthaus were both named to the Class 4 first team. 

Daniel was named to the all-state first team as an infielder. Daniel was the Lady Warriors’ starting shortstop and leadoff hitter this season. Daniel swiped 44 bases this season, shattering the Warrenton softball stolen bases record. The record was previously held by Kelsey Huenefeld and Morgan Marschel, who both had 21 stolen bases in a season. 

Daniel finished the regular season with a .465 batting average and .509 batting average, both top marks among all Warrenton batters. She also led Warrenton with 47 hits and 37 runs scored. 

Witthaus was named to the Class 4 first team as a pitcher for the second consecutive season. Witthaus led the Lady Warriors on the mound, starting 25 of Warrenton’s 29 games this season. She finished the season with a 16-9 record and 1.40 Earned Run Average in 159 2/3 innings. She struck out 270 batters on the season.
