Warrenton, Wright City and Truesdale Seeking Voluntary Water Conservation Measures

Posted

Warrenton, Wright City and Truesdale officials are asking residents and businesses to take voluntary water conservation measures during the current dry spell. The voluntary request is being done as the local municipalities hope residents reduce their water usage due to the declining levels in the water table. The voluntary measure has not been issued in Marthasville as of Tuesday morning. Some steps residents can take to reduce water usage include not watering lawns, washing vehicles, or filling swimming pools. According to Warrenton officials, the city has taken the spray ground and pool slide out of service at the pool, as well as the coin-operated bulk water station on Ashland Avenue. Warrenton will reevaluate the voluntary measure on Thursday, July 5, to determine if a mandatory measure should be enacted, according to a press release. Other cities also will decide later in the week if a mandatory water conservation effort is needed.
