The Missouri State Chapter of the PEO Sisterhood held its 121st annual convention on June 22 at the University Plaza Hotel in Springfield. More than 330 representatives of PEO chapters across Missouri attended the convention. Vicki Ledbetter, officer of Missouri Chapter MS in Warrenton, served as a delegate. Janet Steury of Chapter FL in St. Joseph, presided over the meeting. Danel Burch of Chapter BT in Neosho served as general chairman of the convention. Convention attendees discussed several educational and philanthropic topics and projects using the theme “Framing Our Future... Imagine! Create! Celebrate!” Cindy Fulp, of Chapter BG in Springfield, was installed as the new president of the Missouri State Chapter during the convention. The PEO Sisterhood is a philanthropic organization where women celebrate the advancement of women, educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans, and a stewardship of Cottey College in Nevada, Mo. They also motivate each other to achieve their highest aspirations. There are approximately 6,000 chapters in the United States and Canada and nearly 250,000 members. The purposes of PEO are accomplished through projects on local, state, and international levels. For further information about the PEO Sisterhood, log on to the PEO International website.
