Warrenton voters approved extending the city’s western boundary down the Interstate 70 corridor.Seventy-five votes, or 75 percent, were cast in support of the annexation proposal, according to unofficial results form Tuesday’s election. Twenty-five voters opposed the measure.The city will be allowed to annex the interstate and surrounding right-of way.The majority of voters in all three city wards supported the annexation.Here is the breakdown of votes:Ward 1 — yes, 32; no, 8.Ward 2 — yes, 22; no, 9.Ward 3 — yes, 13; no, 5.Absentee — yes, 8; no, 3.The voter turnout was 2.17 percent as only 100 of 4,609 registered voters in the city went to the polls.
