When the 2026-27 workouts for the Missouri Baptist men’s volleyball team begin, they will have a decidedly Warren County flavor.
That’s because, within the past week, a trio of Warriors volleyball players has signed their respective National Letters of Intent (NLI) with the Spartans program, which is coached by Tom Young.
Current seniors Teegan Williams, Brayden Brown and Kaleb Lauck will all head to the school, which is located in Creve Coeur.
“The school is close, and they usually have a really good team,” Williams said of his choice. “I think this will be good for us to go and grow.”
Williams, a 6-foot-4 outside hitter, currently ranks ninth in the area in kills with 240.
Joining him will be the 5-7 libero/setter Brown and the 6-4 middle hitter Lauck.
Brown leads the team with 263 digs. Lauck has added 24 blocks and 18 assists for the Warriors (9-10-1).
“It’s going to be nice to have somebody that I know, can hang out with and have been friends with for a long time,” Brown said. “I like the coach and all the guys on the team seem cool.”
Just like his teammates, Lauck sang the praises of the Missouri Baptist program.
He said he’s excited to see just what he and his high school teammates can bring to the Spartans.
“I thought it was a great volleyball program to be a part of, and they have a lot of culture around their program, as well as I'm going with people I know, and it's close to home,” Lauck said. “I just like the idea of learning something new, and it's newer to me, and I'm still learning a lot from the people here, and I feel like I'm going to learn a lot in college. I want to study forensics and be a blood analyst for the FBI.”
The trio will join a Spartans team that finished 16-13, including a 9-10 mark in conference play.
“They had a bit of a down year this year,” Williams said. “They’re usually right in the middle of it for the conference. They’ve typically been a very successful program. We’re excited to go there together, continue playing the game and working at getting better as athletes, ourselves.”
