Richard Soenhgen, 37, of St. Peters, was traveling on the North Outer Road of Interstate 70 east of Route J when he crossed the center line and struck a Warrenton teenager's vehicle head on, causing serious injuries to both drivers, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The teenager, aged 17, was transported to Cardinal Glennon Hospital by Arch Helicopter. Soehngen was transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Lake St. Louis by the Warren County Ambulance District.
Soehngen was not wearing a seatbelt in the accident, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Both vehicles were totaled in the accident.
