A Warrenton teacher is the recipient of a Missouri Farm Bureau mini-grant to allow students to enhance their understanding of agriculture.Diane Miederhoff, of Warrenton High School, recently received a check for her mini-grant from Warren County Farm Bureau President Stacy Ward.Miederhoff’s classroom project, titled “From Garden to Table,” is among the 28 mini-grants being funded by Missouri Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture. The units of study, activities, field trips, and accurate agricultural resource materials provided through this award allow students to enhance their awareness of agriculture.“It’s refreshing to review the project proposals and see how teachers are planning to include agriculture in their classroom curriculum,” said Diane S. Olson, of the Missouri Farm Bureau.“Teachers are so resourceful and develop many unique learning opportunities. The mini-grant funding provides financial support allowing teachers to stretch their limited resource budget even further while infusing agricultural concepts.Missouri educators applied for funding to assist them in helping children connect to farming and the products derived from agriculture. This marks the 16th year for this competitive grant process in which educators can receive a maximum of $250 per classroom project. Several thousand dollars in mini-grants are awarded each year. Warrenton Teacher Gets Mini-Grant
