The Warriors improved to 15-1 with their 13th win in a row, which was called after four innings.
“We took care of business and did what we needed to do,” Head Coach Trevor Hibbs said. “We took better at-bats today.”
Hibbs had criticized his team’s approach at the plate earlier in the season.
It was hard for him to find similar criticisms after the four-inning affair Tuesday, in which his team drew 11 walks.
The Warriors capitalized on erratic pitching and sloppy defense all game.
After reaching on an error to lead off the game, Kaylee Anderson scored on a wild pitch two batters later to get Warrenton on the board.
Jansen and Amanda Vehlewald later scored after reaching via walks, and Kylie Carter scored on an infield error.
Vehlewald finished the game with two hits and a walk.
Ten different Warrenton batters reached base on the afternoon.
The Warriors scored four runs in the first inning, four in the second and six in the third.
Jansen would only need one run, however.
The senior struck out 10 St. Charles West batters, including her final nine, to finish the perfect game.
“Jenny was pitching well today and she was really hitting her spots,” Hibbs said. “She shut their bats down, and they have a few bats on their team. But she really equalized them today really fast with good pitching and location.
It was Jansen’s fifth win of the season, and she has yet to give up an earned-run in 28 innings of work.
Warrenton improved to 5-0 in conference play and held a one-game lead over Orchard Farm heading into the teams’ meeting Wednesday in Orchard Farm.
“We were more focused in this game, and we’ll need to be that way against Orchard Farm, as well,” Hibbs said.
The Warriors head to Winfield Thursday and host Orchard Farm Tuesday in the conference finale.
“We’ve just got to play the game, execute, and try to make the fewest mistakes possible,” Hibbs said..DRIVING RUNS IN — Jordan Rugh connects on a pitch during Tuesday's GAC North meeting with St. Charles West. Warrenton won, 15-0, in four innings. Kory Carpenter photo.
