The Warrenton softball team beat Mexico 4-1 in the Class 3 sectionals Wednesday night and is now one win away from a state appearance.Junior shortstop Jenny Jansen had a two-hit, two-RBI performance to back the strong pitching from senior hurler Taylor Nordwald. The right-hander allowed five hits, while strking out four and walking one. Jansen had run-scoring hits in the first and and third innings as the Warriors jumped ahead 3-0. Destinee Frost had an RBI double in the seventh inning, scoring Jansen who reached on a two-out walk.Warrenton (25-2) will play at Incarnate Word in the Class 3 quarterfinals Saturday.
