sulted in Rachel Moritz finding Emily Craven for the game’s lone goal 15 minutes into the first half. It was just another impressive show of teamwork in what has become routine for the senior duo this season. “I’ve been really impressed with how well those two are working together,” said Evans. “They’ve been doing a great job of putting together passes.” Craven is currently leading the team in scoring, delivering her latest scoring gem in the nonconference meeting that improved the Warriors to 3-1. “Rachel came up the sideline and played the ball back to Emily, who lofted the ball over the goalie’s head and found the side-netting,” said Evans. “She was able to place it where the goalie never really had a chance.” Warrenton showed its coach a unique display of confidence, maintaining its poise during a tight, tense contest. “It was a high-pressue game that was a lot faster than our usual pace, but still within our caliber of play,” said Evans. As dynamic as Craven and Moritz were, it was the Warriors backfield that held off Fulton’s charge. “Our defense stepped up and eliminated a lot of their opportunities against a team that was pretty quick,” said Evans. “Our experience in those positions is really paying off.” But the success hasn’t been limited to the veterans. “Tiffany Fleahman has been calm and collected, doing a great job in first year,” said Evans. “She’s really coming around, and we’ve really got a lot of high hopes for her.” The Warriors controlled the ball for the majority of the first half, with the teams splitting the possession during the final 40 minutes. “Our wing defenders Sam Douglas and Kristi Kassing were pretty strong for us as well,” said Evans. “Once they started making their offensive strike, our defense was intercepting.” Keeper Kalee Kelly made five saves, securing her role in goal for the Warriors by recording her second shutout. “Shes starting to come around,” said Evans. “She eliminated a lot of the opportunities they had by coming out to get the ball. She plays the field aspect best out of the goalies we have.” It was a total team effort, according to Evans. “The whole team did what they were supposed to,” finished Evans. “They showed a lot of hope and possibility.” The Warriors were scheduled to meet Union on Monday, but the game was cancelled due to inclement weather. Next on the schedule is a meeting against Washington on Thursday.
