Warrenton school break-in suspect given probation

One of the teens accused of a break-in, vandalism and theft at Warrenton High School last summer will serve five years of state-supervised probation.Brendan I. Peters, 18, Warrenton, pleaded guilty Feb. 16 to second-degree burglary, first-degree property damage and stealing items valued at less than $150. He was sentenced by 20th District Associate Circuit Judge David L. Hoven.The other suspect in the break-in, Kyle P. Reese, 18, Warrenton, has a court hearing scheduled for March 6 in Warren County Circuit Court.Peters and Reese were charged with the crimes after evidence of a break-in was discovered by school administrators the morning of July 12. The two high school students allegedly forced open a door around 2 a.m., caused damage and vandalized areas of the school over a two-hour period. The two reportedly caused over $1,300 in damages.Items reported stolen included iPads, digital video cameras and other computer-related equipment.
