Warrenton Police report for May 6-19

The Warrenton Police Department reports will now run biweekly in the Warren County Record.

Monday, May 6

Dryden Street, officers observed damage to the inside of the men’s restroom at Dyer Park. Public Works was notified and the incident is under investigation. 

Wednesday, May 8

Lotus Court, a citizen located an animal at large, contacted animal control and informed them that they had attached the dog to a lead outside and would be waiting for the dog to be picked up. The owner of the dog was identified and contacted. The owner collected their dog from the animal shelter and was issued a citation. 

Saturday, May 11

NE Service Road, two vehicle accident. Vehicle two was traveling northbound on Highway 47, and while making a right turn onto N Service Road was struck by vehicle one. No injuries were reported. 

S Morgan Street, officers observed damage to the men’s restroom at Dyer Park. Public Works was notified and the incident is under investigation. 

Tuesday, May 14

N State Highway 47, a store employee was assaulted by a white male. The subject wanted free food and when they were told the food was not free the individual became angry. The store employee was then assaulted and the subject left the scene. He was located, identified, taken to The Warren County Jail and issued three citations.

Wednesday, May 15

N State Highway 47, two vehicle accident. Vehicle one was making a right turn onto Highway 47 into the far left lane when it collided with vehicle two.

Friday, May 17

State Highway 47/E Walton, two vehicle accident.  Vehicle one was stopped on Highway 47 due to school traffic when it was struck in the rear by vehicle two.  No injuries were reported and both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Saturday, May 18

N State Highway 47, law enforcement was notified of a suspicious circumstance located on Highway 47. A white male was seen tampering with an electrical pole. He was identified and through investigation and drug paraphernalia was discovered. The subject was taken to the Warren County Jail and citations were issued.
