Monday, Oct. 14
State Highway 47/N Service Road, two vehicle accident. Driver was exiting Interstate 70 at mile marker 193 attempting to make a right hand turn onto State Highway 47 and was struck in the rear bumper of vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Friday, Oct. 18
Northeast Service Road/State Highway 47, two vehicle accident. Vehicle one ran a red light and struck vehicle two. Due to statements of witnesses gathered on the scene and the area of vehicle damage, it is consistent with vehicle one being in violation of failing to yield. Vehicle one was towed from the scene.
S State Highway 47, single vehicle accident. Officer made contact with the driver who stated they were using their cellular device and traveled off the right side of the roadway and continued going straight until vehicle collided with a street sign and utility pole. Due to the circumstances of the accident, the driver was requested to perform a preliminary breath test which concluded driver had not consumed any alcoholic beverages. Due to damage sustained, the vehicle was towed from the scene.
Saturday, Oct. 19
Banner Avenue/State Highway 47, single vehicle accident. While on patrol, officer observed two vehicles with hazard lights on. Driver was driving northbound on State Highway 47 approaching Banner Avenue and turned too quickly. The vehicle ran off the roadway and collided into a stop sign, metal trashcan and an electrical box. Vehicle was towed from the scene. No signs of impairment were observed and vehicle two was a witness. City maintenance was notified of damage.
Eastbound Interstate 70, single vehicle accident. Officer responded to mile marker 196 Eastbound Interstate 70 for a reported vehicle accident involving a deer. The driver stated while traveling in lane one a deer ran across the roadway and the driver did not have adequate time or distance to avoid collision. The vehicle required tow from the scene due to disabling damage.
