Warrenton Police Department report Aug. 26 to Sept. 8

Tuesday, Aug. 27

S State Highway 47, two vehicle accident.  Vehicle two was driving south on State Highway 47 when a car ahead of them was attempting to turn left onto Lakeview.  Vehicle two, along with several other cars in front of them, came to a stop and vehicle one collided with the rear of vehicle two.  Vehicle one had significant damage to the car and the airbag deployed.  The driver was taken to St. Joseph West by EMS for injury to left arm and ankle. 

Friday, Aug. 30

State Highway 47/E Veterans Memorial Parkway, officer was dispatched to the intersection of State Highway 47 and Veterans Memorial Parkway for a motor vehicle accident.  Upon arrival, the officer made contact with all involved parties and their respective vehicles.  While obtaining all necessary information for the accident report, it was determined that driver one did not have valid insurance for vehicle one and was issued a citation.  

Westbound Interstate 70, officer was dispatched to Interstate 70 at the 195.4 marker for a report of a motor vehicle accident.  Upon arrival, officer made contact with the driver.  The driver stated they were headed east on Interstate 70 in the fast lane and lost control of the vehicle causing the vehicle to leave the roadway, cross the center median and come to a stop on the median.  Officer observed major damage to the front, sides, and undercharge of the vehicle.  Due to damages, the vehicle was towed from the scene.

Wednesday, Sept. 4

S State Highway 47, an officer was dispatched to Casey’s General Store for a report of found narcotics.  Upon arrival, officer was provided the found narcotics believed to be Methamphetamine, and transported it to the Warrenton Police Department for proper disposal.  The bag of Methamphetamine was weighed at approximately 1.5 grams.  The area around pump 8 was searched for any additional narcotic/narcotic equipment for public safety.  No cameras were present in the area to review and the reporting party did not observe anyone drop the bag.  The bag was properly labeled and submitted into evidence for disposal.

Thursday, Sept. 5

Willow Road/N Highway 47, officer was dispatched to the area of Highway 47 and Willow Road for a single driver accident involving a deer.  Driver was operating vehicle traveling south on State Highway 47 when a deer jumped into the road and collided with the vehicle.  Driver stated he was unable to avoid the deer.  Vehicle did not have any airbag deployments and the driver did not require EMS.  Vehicle had moderate damage to the entire front bumper, hood, grill, fenders, and lights.  Interior damage near the engine was likely, but unknown on scene.  The vehicle was capable of leaving the scene without tow.
