Warrenton man seriously injured in I-70 crash in St. Charles County

A 37-year-old Warrenton man was seriously injured in a crash on Interstate 70 in St. Charles County early Friday morning, Oct. 9, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at 1:30 a.m. at the 205.4 mile marker on eastbound I-70, according to the highway patrol. The man, who was driving a 2020 Ford Edge, was inattentive to traffic that was stopped ahead due to construction, according to the crash report, and struck the rear of a tractor-trailer that was stopped in front of him.

In addition to the Warrenton man’s serious injuries, the driver of the 2025 Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer, a 28-year-old Lee’s Summit man, sustained minor injuries, according to the MSHP. Both were transported by St. Charles County Ambulance District personnel to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - Lake Saint Louis for treatment. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of the occupants involved in injury crashes.
