A Warrenton man who choked a woman and bit her nose will serve 120 days of shock time in jail.Michael Ashworth, 50, of the first block of Granada, received a 10-year prison sentence but will be released if he successfully completes his shock time. Ashworth was sentenced by Circuit Judge Wes Dalton during a court appearance Aug. 11.Ashworth was found guilty of second-degree domestic assault by a jury May 26. He was found not guilty on a second count.Warrenton police arrested Ashworth around 8 p.m. on Sept. 10, 2014, after the female victim reported he had beaten her earlier in the evening. Following a verbal argument, Ashworth began chocking the woman and bit her nose, according to a probable cause statement.After leaving the residence, Ashworth returned and allegedly threw the woman to the ground and choked her again. He then drove the woman down Walton Street where she exited the vehicle and reported the assault to police.Domestic assault
