A Warrenton man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a crash in Columbia on Sept. 2, according to the Columbia Police Department.
Nicholas B. Schneider, 21, was taken to a local hospital after the crash, which occurred at 4:49 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
According to police, Schneider was driving westbound on Green Meadows Road riding a moped scooter. He was struck head-on by a 2003 Ford Explorer that crossed the center line while driving in the opposite direction.
Schneider was ejected from the moped. He was wearing a helmet, police said.
The driver of the Ford Explorer, Hannah I. Jawad, 21, of Columbia, did not receive any injuries, police said. A passenger was also uninjured.
Columbia Police Department is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
