A Warrenton man was one of 28 people named in federal indictments for their alleged involvement in the manufacturing and the sale of synthetic drugs.
Paul Berra Jr., 30, of Warrenton, was named in one of four indictments that were disclosed last week.
The indictments were filed in U.S. District Court in St. Louis and remained sealed until last week when the suspects were arrested.
Berra is accused of importing chemicals and making synthetic drugs, such as bath salts and fake marijuana.
The suspects facing the synthetic drug trafficking charges are mainly from Missouri and Illinois, though four are from Indiana and one from Arizona.
