Marine Wendell W. Webb received two national awards at the 100th anniversary of the Marine Corps League National Convention in Oklahoma City.
Webb received the Chapel of Four Chaplains Distinguished Service Award with Bronze Medallion for his service helping veterans.
He also received the 2023 Marine Corps League National Marine of the Year at the banquet for his service at the detachment, department and national levels.
Webb is a member of the Richard Scott Haymes Detachment 1393 in Warrenton and a dual member of the St Charles County Detachment 725 in St. Charles.
Sgt Webb served in the US Marine Corps from 1964 to 1968 and is a Vietnam Veteran. He retired from The Boeing Company after 42 plus years as Chief Scientist, Technology for Fighter Aircraft. He also serves on the board of directors for FOCUS Marine Foundation in Augusta.
He served as the National Commandant and CEO of the National Organization from 2017-2019.
The National Marine Corps League is located in Stafford, VA outside Quantico Marine Base and the National Marine Corps Museum in Virginia.
