Derek J. Hughes was pronounced dead on scene by Warren County Deputy Coroner Dean Jackson shortly after 3:30 a.m. according to the accident report filed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The accident report says Hughes was driving his 2000 Suzuki GSX-R600 northbound when he failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the road and struck a culvert.
