One person was killed Tuesday in a crash on Interstate 70 involving at least four vehicles.
Raymond C. Moore, 86, of Warrenton, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened around 1:20 p.m. about a mile west of the Foristell interchange, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
A highway patrol crash report states Moore was westbound in a 2004 Ford Taurus traveling at high speed, when he attempted to drive on the right shoulder to pass a vehicle. Moore struck a tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder, causing his vehicle to reenter traffic and strike the rear of another tractor-trailer, the highway patrol said.
A fourth vehicle was struck by debris from the crash. No other people involved were injured, according to the highway patrol report.
All the drivers involved were wearing seat belts, the patrol said.
