An 18-year-old Warrenton man was involved in a three-car accident in St. Charles County while traveling west on Missouri Route 364 west of Interstate 64 at 5:49 p.m. on Jan. 15, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
According to the patrol, the Warrenton man failed to pay adequate attention to the traffic ahead while traveling at a relatively slow speed and struck the rear of the Wentzville woman's vehicle in front of him.
The Wentzville woman, 67, was startled and lifted her foot from the brake causing her vehicle to move forward and strike the rear of a Lake St. Louis woman, 41, who was in front of her.
The Wentzville woman sustained moderate injuries in the accident and was transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Lake St. Louis via ambulance. The Warrenton man and Lake St. Louis woman did not report any injuries, according to the patrol.
All three involved in the accident were wearing their seat belts.
