A Warrenton man, 55, was involved in a three-car accident on Interstate 70 in St. Charles County around 5 p.m. on Dec. 19.
All three vehicles were traveling west on I-70, a 35-year-old Wentzville man was traveling behind the Warrenton man and was following too closely, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
When the Warrenton man came to a stop due to traffic ahead, the Wentzville man struck the rear of his vehicle. Then a Moberly man who was traveling behind the Wentzville man crashed into him due to the accident, according to the patrol.
The Wentzville and Moberly men's vehicles came to a stop blocking the left lane of the interstate. The Warrenton man's vehicle was forced onto the left shoulder.
A New Melle woman, 55, who was a passenger in the Wentzville man's vehicle received minor injuries in the accident and was transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis via ambulance.
There were no other injuries reported in the accident, according to the patrol.
All individuals involved in the accident were wearing their seat belts.
