Janiaya Corft, 20, of St. Charles, was traveling east on Interstate 70 yesterday morning when her brakes locked as she attempted to reduce her speed due to traffic ahead, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The ensuing accident caused five additional cars in front of her to collide with each other, including Dennis Title, 47, of Warrenton who did not report any injuries. The majority of those involved in the accident were uninjured, Corft and the other two occupants of her vehicle, Aleigh Jackson, 20, also of St. Charles and Michael Harrison, 36, of Louisiana, MO, were hurt in the accident.
Corft and Harrison received minor injuries in the accident and were transported by the St. Charles Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital St. Louis and SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Lake St. Louis respectively.
Jackson was moderately injured in the accident and transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis by the St. Charles Ambulance District. She was not wearing a seatbelt in the accident.
Corft’s vehicle was totaled in the accident.
