A Warrenton man faces domestic assault charges after he allegedly choked his girlfriend and held her at knife point after she threw a blanket at him.Avery L. Jones, 25, was charged with second degree domestic assault.According to court documents, on the early morning of Dec. 2, Warrenton police responded to the 2000 block of Villas of Hawthorne Drive after receiving a call from the victim. She told police Jones had choked her and held a knife on her. The incident followed an argument in which Jones refused to turn down the music on his cellphone. According to the report, Jones continued to ignore the victim and after a few minutes she threw at blanket at Jones' face. Jones then got on top of the victim and began strangling her. Jones warned the victim not to make any noise because he did not want to awaken his sister.Jones released the victim and held a pocket knife to her throat for about a minute. He reportedly said, "You think I'm joking?" Jones then told the victim to gather her things and get out.Jones later told police he became extremely angry after he was hit by the blanket.
