A Warrenton man was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with property damage in excess of $1,000 and excessive blood alcohol content following an incident Oct. 28 around 4:25 p.m.
According to a probable cause affidavit submitted by the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy was dispatch to a traffic collision in Warren County. Through investigation the deputy determined that Robert Whobrey of Warrenton was operating his vehicle had crashed at the location damaging a fiber optic cable box and a driveway culvert. Whobrey was later located and the deputy detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath. The deputy also observed that Whobrey was unsteady on his feet and was staggering and stumbling. Whobrey provided a breath sample that showed a 0.145 blood alcohol content.
