Adam Sage, 56, of Warrenton, was charged with fourth-degree domestic assault for his third or subsequent offense, stemming from an incident early on the morning of Aug. 5.
According to the probable cause statement, Warrenton Police Officers were dispatched to a location in Warrenton just before 3 a.m. on Aug. 5 for a physical domestic disturbance.
The victim told officers Sage had just returned from jail for a prior domestic assault conviction, at which point the victim exited the residence in fear.
According to the probable cause statement, the victim said Sage threw an ashtray at her head, and if she had not ducked it would have hit her. The ashtray was found in the driveway consistent with the victim’s story.
Sage appeared intoxicated according to the probable cause statement and denied the victim’s allegations.
Sage has seven prior convictions for domestic violence spanning from 2005 to 2025.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest and he is to be held without bond.
