Warrenton man charged with domestic assault, kidnapping

Posted

Brian Gibson, 36, of Warrenton, was charged with second-degree domestic assault and second-degree kidnapping, both felonies, stemming from an incident on the evening of March 30.

Warren County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Wade responded to a call for a physical disturbance at a residence that evening and when he arrived he found the victim visibly upset.

According to the probable cause statement filed by Wade, the victim stated Gibson had struck her multiple times and “water-boarded” her in the shower.

She said he physically restrained her in the shower and struck her “over 20 times” while spraying her in the face with the shower head, causing her to choke.

The victim stated at one point she contemplated giving up and accepting her fate and thought her life was in danger.

Wade reported several bruises and cuts across the victim's body with some appearing recent and some appearing older. She said Gibson had struck her and knocked her out five days prior as well.

When Gibson was restraining her he said he would be going back to prison if he allowed the victim to leave.

Gibson has a long list of prior felony convictions including second-degree burglary and theft of $500 but less than $2,500 and possession of a controlled substance in Warren County.

In St. Charles County he was also convicted of three counts of possession of a controlled substance and second-degree burglary.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest and he is to be held without bond.
