A Warrenton man is facing multiple child pornography charges after police reportedly found dozens of graphic videos involving children on his computer.
Victor E. Brockfeld, 76, was charged Nov. 2 with six counts of possession of child pornography, which Warrenton police first investigated in March 2018. If convicted, Brockfeld could be sentenced to decades in prison.
A Warrenton Police Department court filing states officers were first alerted to Brockfeld when an automated computer program located child pornography being shared online. The video was located on a peer-to-peer file sharing network.
Police then worked with CenturyLink to match identifying information from the computer sharing the video to Brockfeld’s address in Warrenton.
Police said a search of Brockfeld’s home on March 29, 2018, located a computer that contained 24 videos containing children engaged in graphic sexual acts.
During an interview with investigators, Brockfeld allegedly admitted to downloading child pornography as recently as that month.
Court records indicate Brockfeld had not been taken into custody as of Tuesday, Nov. 12. Brockfeld has no prior criminal convictions identified in online court records or the Missouri sex offender registry.
