Just after midnight Friday, Aug. 24, Warrenton police arrested an 18-year-old man who they say raped a woman at his home on Golden Vicary Drive. The suspect, Joseph A. Dunn, 18, Warrenton, is in custody with a bond set at $25,000. He is charged with second-degree rape, a class D felony punishable by a maximum of seven years in prison.Police arrived at a neighbor’s home at 12:40 a.m. Friday, where they met with the victim. A responding officer described the woman as “visibly shaken, crying and (appearing) confused and scared.”The victim told officers that less than 30 minutes earlier at Dunn’s residence, she had initially agreed to have sexual intercourse with him, but early on began telling him to stop.Dunn allegedly told the woman to be quiet and ignored her pleas. He only stopped when another person at the residence beat on the door and told him to get off the woman, according to a police report.Officers interviewed four witnesses at the residence who reported seeing Dunn and the victim go into a room together, and then hearing her yelling and crying for Dunn to stop. One of the witnesses recorded a video of the incident, upon which police said the victim can be heard making sounds of distress and pleading with Dunn repeatedly.Dunn allegedly admitted to the incident during an interview with police. A police report quotes him as saying “I think I raped her.”Dunn has an arraignment scheduled for Sept. 5 in the Warren County Circuit Court.
