A Warrenton man was arrested for suspicion of intoxicated driving following a traffic crash Thursday morning on Interstate 70 in Wright City, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol. The highway patrol reported that Jason L. Christian, 37, was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated and two counts of second-degree assault. Formal charges are pending, according to Mike Wright, Warren County Prosecuting Attorney. Christian was driving a west in a 1998 Saturn SL2 when he struck a concrete median barrier and then traveled back onto the roadway where his vehicle was struck by a 2011 Ford F-550 driven by Mark J. Vessell, 28, also of Warrenton, the highway patrol said. Christian suffered serious injuries in the 12:40 a.m. wreck. He was taken by Warren County ambulance to St. Joseph's Hospital West, Lake St. Louis. The patrol reported that Christian was arrested 58 minutes after the wreck occurred. Vessell and a passenger in his vehicle, Jayme K. Vessell, 28, Warrenton, both sustained minor injuries in the crash. They also were taken by Warren County ambulance to St. Joseph's Hospital West for treatment. All three individuals were wearing seat belts in the crash which occurred at the 200.6 mile marker.
