Warrenton man accused in assault

Warren County authorities have arrested and charged a Warrenton man accused of assaulting a woman in a grocery store parking lot.Nicholas S. Rogers, 39, is being held at the Warren County Jail under a $10,000 bond. He is charged with second-degree domestic assault, a felony.Rogers was arrested Oct. 30. The victim in the case alleged that two days prior, she was with Rogers in the parking lot of Moser’s in Warrenton when Rogers assaulted her. The victim told police the physical violence started with an argument, according to a police report.The victim stated Rogers punched and slapped her head and then choked her. The victim also recounted that while choking her, Rogers allegedly threatened to kill the woman and her children.An officer who met with the victim observed scratch marks and bruising on the woman’s neck, as well as bruising around her eye.Rogers was arraigned Oct. 31 in Warren County Circuit Court. The next hearing to review his case is scheduled for Nov. 14.
