Where:Orchard Farm High School. When:Friday, Oct. 18.Time:7 p.m.Coaches:Warrenton — Steve McDowell. Orchard Farm — Phil Kendall.Records:Warrenton — 2-5. Orchard Farm —2-5.Last Year’s Meeting:Warrenton 35, Orchard Farm 21.The Warriors accumulated 485 yards of total offense in a balanced effort. Quarterback T.J. Lafaver completed 17 of 24 passes for 259 yards, while Devin Ray rushed for 141 yards on 27 carries.Outlook:The Eagles haven’t experienced the success they enjoyed the past few seasons as of late, beating just two opponents this fall. Orchard Farm shut out Wright City in Week Two and routed Winfield in Week Five. The Eagles’ offense is run dominant and has been led by Armand Keely with 971 yards and eight touchdowns on 108 carries. Two different players have lined up at quarterback for Orchard Farm, with Tyler Westerfield having completed 32 of 70 passes for 363 yards. He has thrown three touchdowns to four interceptions. D.J. Kemp has also played quarterback this season, connecting on 23 of 40 passes for 216 yards.McDowell is expecting a Pro-I formation with a spread look on passing downs. He say the Warriors will focus on stopping the run first.Defensively, Orchard Farm will present a 4-4 look, switching to a 4-3 in certain situations. The Eagles’ coverages vary from man to zone.Focal Points:Warrenton was able to enjoy a fun game free of frustration while hammering Winfield last Friday. Orchard Farm will provide a more experienced, physical approach that should challenge the Warriors’ offense. It seems Warrenton has turned to Zach Logan as more of a running option than quarterback, where he spent the first half of the season. Actually, the Warriors kind of strayed from the passing game altogether against Winfield, throwing the ball just twice. They finally completed their first touchdown pass of the season, erasing a glaring goose egg.Orchard Farm will try to win the battle in the trenches and be the aggressor, executing an offense that is more smash mouth than flashy. Warrenton needs this victory for a matter of respect, potentially bringing it to three wins in the GAC.
The Warrenton football team travels to Orchard Farm tonight.
