The Warrenton football team reigned supreme over St. Charles West in a 48-14 win tonight.
The first quarter remained scoreless, but the Warriors got rolling in the second quarter with four scores.
Sophomore Bradley Tucker got on the board first off of a four-yard touchdown to mark the running back's first touchdown this season. Warrenton went for a two-point conversion but they were unable to complete it.
St. Charles West responded with a 43-yard touchdown reception to take the lead 7-6.
In the very next play, Tucker had an incredible 92-yard kickoff return to quickly take back the lead for Warrenton.
Jordan Lopez came up with a big play after recovering a fumble and returning it for a 78-yard touchdown.
Joe Greene came up big for the Warriors as well after capturing an interception on a St. Charles West fourth down.
The second quarter ended with a 17-yard touchdown pass from Christian Blondin to Brody Reel. The Warriors entered halftime up 26-7.
Starting the third quarter, Deadrick Forrest intercepted a pass, and Javon Jones scored on a three-yard run. The third quarter ended 32-7.
Warrenton had no intention of slowing down as they entered the fourth and final quarter. After St. Charles West scored on a four-yard run, Warrenton’s Isias Hernadez ran for a 10-yard touchdown in the next drive. Then, he completed a two-point conversion.
Lopez later recovered an onside kick, which Warrenton finished off the drive with a 23-yard touchdown pass from Blondin to Kaleb Lauck. Tucker completed the two-point conversion. Lastly, Antwian Pierce recovered a fumble on a kickoff.
Warrenton improves to a 2-0 GAC North Conference record and 4-1 overall.
