The Warrenton football team struggled to sustain its offensive drives on Thursday, losing the final game of the season 34-12 to St. Charles West. The Warriors ended the season on a nine-game losing streak, missing the playoffs for the first time in three years. The game was scoreless through one quarter, and but St. Charles West tore off several big plays to build a 24-0 lead by halftime. Trailing 34-0, Warrenton finally put itself on the board when senior Nick Todd scored on a 10-yard run with 11:16 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Warriors closed the gap again with 3:10 left, as Todd connected with Travis Doyle on a 21-yard touchdown. Warrenton finished the season 1-9. _______ Wright City also lost its season finale, falling 20-13 against Winfield. The Wildcats finished 1-9 as well.
