Beginning Monday, Oct. 9, the Scenic Regional Library Warrenton Branch will offer U.S. passport services.
Many public libraries around the country offer passport services. The Union branch began offering passport services Jan. 3 and has processed over 131 applications.
In the fall of 2018, Scenic Regional Library plans to expand the service to its other branches, including the new Wright City branch.
All seven full-and part-time employees at the branch in Warrenton have completed a training webinar to serve as passport agents.
A new passport for an adult costs $110, plus a $25 application fee. The application process normally takes about 25 minutes. Once an application is submitted, it takes about four to six weeks to receive a passport. However, there are options to receive it sooner.
Passport services are by appointment only. People may call the Warrenton Branch at 636-456-3321 to schedule an appointment.
