The city of Warrenton will host a community-sized celebration for National Night Out on Aug. 3 at the Warrenton Athletic Complex on Hickory Lick Road. The event brings together residents and local emergency responders for an evening of fun and community building.
National Night out is a nationwide event that promotes community partnerships, safety awareness, and drug and crime prevention. Warrenton’s event will be held from 4-8 p.m. and is open for anyone to attend, not just residents of Warrenton.
Special activities during the event will include a variety of games, face painting, bounce houses and a dunk booth. Firefighters, police officers, medics, and even a water patrol boat crew will all bring their vehicles for children to explore and experience, and a helicopter landing is also planned for the evening’s events.
Refreshments will be available at the event. Community organizations, such as Scenic Regional Library and the county health department, will also be present.
The Warrenton Athletic Complex is located on Hickory Lick Road, less than a mile east of North Highway 47.
