In Warrenton, the mayor and three board of aldermen positions will be up for election in April.Individuals who are interested in running for these positions need to file their declaration of candidacy at city hall between Dec. 13 and Jan. 17. The filing fee is $10.The position of mayor is a two-year term. To run for mayor, a person must be at least 25 years of age; a citizen of the United States and a resident of the city of Warrenton at the time of and for at least one year preceding the election; and a qualified voter under the laws and Constitution of the state of Missouri and the city of Warrenton.Three aldermen positions are open for election, one in each of the city’s three wards. Each position is a two-year term.To run for these seats, individuals must be at least 18 years of age, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city for at least one year preceding the election; a resident of the same ward he or she is seeking election; and a qualified voter under the laws and Constitution of the state of Missouri and the city of Warrenton.Declarations of candidacy may be filed with the city clerk at city hall, 200 W.
