The Warrenton girls basketball team opened its season with a 63-37 win over Orchard Farm Monday night in a Gateway Athletic Conference showdown.The Warriors jumped out to an 11-3 lead in the opening minutes and continued to extend their advantage, leading by as many as 30 points in the second half.Jenny Jansen led the team with 18 points, and Kaylee Anderson connected on three 3-pointers to finish with 17 points.Amanda LaFaver chipped in seven points, and Kayla Nelson added six.The Warrenton defense pressured Orchard Farm early, leading to easy points in transition.In half-court sets, the Warriors picked apart the Eagles' zone defense, finding open shooters throughout the game.Warrenton returns to action Wednesday at Elsberry at 5:30 p.m.Warriors
