The Warrenton girls basketball team held off Fulton 54-52 on Thursday in the semifinal round of the Class 4 District 8 Tournament at Kirksville.The Warriors advanced to the program's first title game appearance in 19 years and will meet the host team on Friday at 6 p.m.Warrenton jumped out to a 7-0 lead and controlled much of the game but would have to hold off a charge by the Hornets in the closing minutes.The Warriors led 50-38 with 2:30 left, before giving up a 9-0 run that allowed Fulton to close the gap.Senior Hannah Sutton scored a team-high 19 points, while sophomore Jenny Jansen added 17 points.Senior Kylie Toebben and sophomore Kaylee Anderson each netted eight.Check out the photo gallery of the game here: http://bit.ly/1EwulL8WARRIORS ADVANCE TO TITLE GAMEDerrick Forsythe photo.
