Warrenton finished the 2023 football season in a share for the No. 6 slot in the final Missouri football rankings.
Warrenton maintained the No. 6 spot in the Class 4 Missouri media football rankings after winning their first 11 games and advancing to the Class 4, District 4 championship game. Warrenton tallied 36 points in the rankings, which placed them in a tie with Nevada for sixth in the rankings.
“It was a phenomenal season,” Warrenton head coach Jason Koper said. “The town support and community support this year was second to none.”
The Warriors finished the season with an 11-1 record. They finished the regular season with a perfect 9-0 record. They beat Lutheran St. Charles and Parkway North in the district playoffs before falling to Hannibal in the district championship game.
“Going into the offseason, the athletes cannot be satisfied with the success of last season,” Koper said. “Next season started when we lost the district championship game… If our athletes stay hungry and motivated, the sky is the limit.”
